What the hell is wrong with you people? You do as little as possible, if anything at all.This does not touch your life?Hell if it doesn't. My spirit is disturbed,greatly ,at your apathy.

It is so easy to do something with this electronic age...I provided the links and the phone numbers in the last post.Lazy ,complacent ,apathetic people.

How is it that with all your education and experience that you don't see how the ripples will come to your shore?To effect all that are dear to you...the innocent and the children that you have concern for...they will find themselves in some circumstance that requires all of the communities effort to remedy their dilemna and you will be crying out for help and who will be there to hear.Only you?

My letter to Gov.Sonny Perdue...

Troy Davis is set to be executed 9/23/08. And there is a disturbing question as to his Guilt.
Many facts and recantations from the witnesses are pointing to his innocence.7 out of 9 witnesses are recanting their testimony.
I know that an innocent man will be executed on 9/23/08 unless through your position of power you are able to stop it.By exercising your wisdom to ascertain the mercy that your office may impose on this man,justice may be meted out for all.

"Of nine witnesses, seven recanted. Of the two remaining witnesses, one is Sylvester "Red" Coles, the man who originally implicated Davis. Coles has uttered several post trial confessions to the murder, and admitted to having a gun during the incident, which he "threw away" prior to speaking with the police. Nine witnesses now identify Red Coles as MacPhail's killer."

The prison experts have reported that there are 100,000 innocent Americans currently being falsely imprisoned along with the 2,300,000 total US prison population nationwide.
Since our US Congress has never afforded poor prison inmates federal appeal legal counsel for their federal retrials,they have effectively closed the doors on these tens of thousands of innocent citizens ever being capable of possibly exonerating themselves to regain their freedom through being granted new retrials.

This same exact unjust situation was happening in our Southern States when poor and mostly uneducated Black Americans were being falsely imprisoned for endless decades without the needed educational skills to properly submit their own written federal trial appeals.

This devious and deceptive judicial process of making our poor and innocent prison inmates formulate and write their own federal appeal legal cases for possible retrials on their state criminal cases,is still in effect today even though everyone in our US judicial system knows that without proper legal representation, these tens of thousands of innocent prison inmates will be denied their rightful opportunities of ever being granted new trials from our federal appeal judges!!

Sadly, the true US *legal* Federal Appeal situation that occurs when any of our uneducated American prison inmates are forced to attempt to submit their own written Federal Appeals (from our prisons nationwide) without the assistance of proper legal counsel, is that they all are in reality being denied their legitimate rights for Habeas Corpus and will win any future Supreme Court Case concerning this injustice!

For our judicial system and our US Congressional Leaders Of The Free World to continue to pretend that this is a real and fair opportunity for our American Middle Class and Working Poor Citizens, only delays the very needed future change of Federal Financing of all these Federal appeals becoming a normal formula of Our American judicial system.

It was not so very long ago that Public Defenders became a Reality in this country.Prior that legal reality taking place, their were also some who thought giving anyone charged with a crime a free lawyer was a waste of taxpayers $$.

It keeps getting worse...please read VAS's article Troy Davis denied presence of loved ones at execution at 7pm on Tuesday, September 23, just hours from now. I don't know where you are at in Georgia but maybe you know somebody that knows somebody that can get the AG/Thurber Baker's attention...read about deliberate acts to keep attempts to hand deliver letters to him, unsuccessful...Attorney General walled off by Police

Dear Mr. Baker, We tried to hand-deliver the attached letter today (signed version to follow). The Capitol Police would not allow us into your office. In fact, when four citizens, three of whom are ministers in training, entered the building in a very calm and orderly fashion, the Capitol Police aggressively removed them. The police actually removed their handcuffs from their belts threatening to physically restrain these law-abiding young men and women. When the group of four gathered on the nearby sidewalk to discuss, among themselves, their utter astonishment at this overly aggressive treatment, the Capitol Police then ordered each to provide their identifying information, and again threatened arrest. The Capitol Police banished them from the Capitol grounds and told the group not to enter for any circumstances for the next 48 hours and that they would need advanced permission for any future entry.

I'll second that nomination. As others have said, vas is the one who has put in the hard work on this issue, organizing, finding contact info, and so on. When I first wrote about Troy Davis, a little over a year ago, I had hoped that my words would in some small part spur others to do the work that I felt I was ill-equipped for.

It is no exaggeration to say that vas stepped into that void and did that work. It's my hope that he will be recognized in some small way for it. For my part, I wish publicly to say "thank you, vas."

God, it would be my honor to meet this man someday ! I love you ,man.
